Dr. Matthew Morse is currently Director of Bands and Assistant Professor of Music in the School of Music at California State University, Sacramento, where he conducts the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the Concert Band, oversees the Marching Band, and teaches courses in undergraduate and graduate conducting. He is in demand as a clinician and guest conductor throughout California and nationwide and the Sacramento State Symphonic Wind Ensemble has been selected to perform at this year’s California All-State Music Education Conference in Fresno in February 2019.

Lester E. Lehr, D. M. A.
Dr. Lehr is a distinguished and much respected member of the Sacramento Music Community. Born in South Dakota, he moved to Sacramento in 1947. His education includes a B.A. from CSUS, Sacramento, a M.M. in Music Literature and Performance from The Eastman School of Music of the Rochester University, and a Doctorate in Musical Arts from U.S.C. where he was a teaching assistant to William A. Schaefer. Dr. Lehr studied trombone with Norman J. Hunt, Emory Remington, Robert Marstellar, Byron Peebles and Lewis Van Haney and conducting with Frederick Westphal, Paul White, Frederick Fennell and William A. Schaefer.

Timothy M. Smith is a seasoned conductor and veteran music educator – an Emeritus Professor of Music, who, in fall of 2016 assumed the position of Artistic and Music Director of the Sacramento Symphonic Winds. In May of 2018 he retired from his position as Music Director and Conductor of the Contra Costa Chamber Orchestra, after an eleven-year tenure. Retiring from academia in 2008, his teaching career included founding the instrumental music program at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA and a twenty-two year tenure as Professor of Music at California State University, East Bay in Hayward.
