Steven Thompson, Trombone

Steven Thompson Steven Thompson has held principal trombone positions with the Hiroshima Symphony, Los Angeles Classical Ballet, National Orchestra of Costa Rica, and Ventura Symphony, as well as section positions with the Santa Monica and Wichita Symphonies. He has been invited to perform with orchestras at the Aspen Music Festival, Pacific Music Festival, Grand Teton Seminar, Music Academy of the West, and the American Youth Symphony and worked with conductors such as Michael Tilson Thomas, Nemi Jarvi, Christoph Eschenbach, Eiji Oue, and Claudio Scimone.

Steven holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Southern California. His performance studies have been with members of the Vienna Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and Los Angeles Philharmonic. Steven has been a member of the faculties of Glendale, Ventura, and Chabot Colleges and currently is Director of Instrumental Music at American River College in Sacramento.
